Restoration work continues on Costa Calma's palm grove
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has completed the initial “shock” cleaning of the garden areas in Costa Calma. Although the work has been carried out continuously, this phase marks a strategic shift in how cleaning and maintenance are being handled.
According to the Ayuntamiento de Pájara, the operations are now zoned, allowing crews to work segment by segment. This approach provides greater visibility and efficiency in conditioning the spaces.
“We thank the institutional collaboration provided and will keep working on the palm grove with both machinery and municipal staff, aiming to recover and open up the different areas of this zone,” the governing group of the Ayuntamiento said in a statement. “The improvement is already being felt by the community.”
The municipality stresses that this zoned approach will remain in place until the current tendering process—being prepared by the Ayuntamiento—is finalized and a specialized company begins a comprehensive cleaning of the Costa Calma palm grove.
Finally, the municipal government highlighted that these actions are part of the commitments made to Costa Calma to progressively improve its public spaces and green areas.
