Fuerteventura Film Commission announces three free workshops after lighting course

Three free film workshops will take place on Fuerteventura in November and December, following a lighting course attended by around 20 students.

Fuerteventura Film Commission has announced three free workshops for November and December. They follow its film lighting course, which ended on 30 October 2026.

The workshops cover make-up and hair for film and television, photography, and wig-making. They are part of the commission’s 2026 training programme. The aim is to help island residents gain technical skills for work in film, television and other audiovisual productions.

Upcoming workshop dates

Francis Bodí will teach make-up and hair for film and television from 9 to 13 November. Cecilia Bayonas will lead the photography workshop from 16 to 20 November. Paco Rodríguez will teach wig-making from 30 November to 4 December.

All three workshops are free. The report does not say where they will take place, give daily schedules or explain how to register.

Practical lighting training completed

Around 20 students took part in the lighting course from 26 to 30 October. They studied theory and gained hands-on experience with light, shadows and professional lighting equipment.

A lorry brought professional electrical equipment to Fuerteventura for the course. This allowed students to work directly with equipment used on audiovisual productions.

Óscar González taught the course. He heads High Voltage, a company based in the Canary Islands. He has worked in the audiovisual industry for more than 20 years. His past work on Fuerteventura includes Mi zona, filmed in the south of the island in June 2026.

Nereida Calero is the councillor responsible for Fuerteventura Film Commission. She said specialist training helped local talent join productions coming to the island.

The commission had already held four other workshops in 2026. These covered set design, documentary scriptwriting, sound post-production and sound for audiovisual projects. Once the remaining courses are complete, it expects close to 100 people to have received free specialist training by the end of the year.
