Antigua’s Halloween and Los Finaos celebration draws more than 700 people
More than 700 people gathered in Antigua’s town square for Halloween attractions and Los Finaos traditions, with help from young volunteers.
More than 700 people gathered in Antigua’s town square for a celebration that combined Halloween attractions with Los Finaos traditions. Onda Fuerteventura reported on the event on 2 November 2026.
The event in Fuerteventura brought older residents, families, children and young people to the square throughout the afternoon. The report does not give the date of the celebration.
Around 20 young people helped with a tunnel of terror, a maze, a mock operating theatre, crafts, figures and other activities. Mayor Juan Cabrera thanked them for their help. He said the event had met requests from families, especially young people. It also kept Los Finaos traditions in mind.
The council’s youth department, led by Sofía Alves, organised the event. She described how softly lit figures, decorated trees and cobwebs had transformed the square. These marked a route between the huts and activities.
Hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts and sweets were also provided. Older residents were among the first to arrive and explore the setting. Families, children and young people followed as the afternoon went on.
The report highlights young people’s role in creating the horror-themed attractions. It also notes the place given to local traditions in the celebration.
